Signal
Organizational
telemetry for
private equity.
Signal continuously analyzes anonymized submissions from verified participants, suppresses noise, and surfaces validated patterns — only after predefined confidence thresholds are met. Not feedback. Intelligence infrastructure.
Live demo — PE view
What a PE firm sees at week 11.
Cascade Industrial Holdings. A developing signal is forming around leadership direction clarity. Threshold not yet breached — no Beacon escalation triggered. No raw submissions visible at any stage.

The other side
What a participant sees.
Participants receive a single anonymous link — no account, no name, no login. Once a week, they select up to three themes present in their organization and set an intensity level. Thirty seconds. That's the entire participant experience.
- No account or login required
- Anonymous by design — identified by function only
- One submission per week, enforced automatically
- Mobile-friendly — works on any device
- No free text — structured themes only, no coaching bias
Live demo — no account needed, no data recorded.

Deployment
Standalone or integrated.
Signal can be deployed on its own as a continuous intelligence layer, or combined with the full Wexler Gray platform for complete portfolio coverage.
Option A
Signal — Standalone
Continuous telemetry without point-in-time assessments. Deploy when you need always-on organizational monitoring.
What you get
- Verified participant onboarding and cadence management
- AI-normalized submission analysis
- Participation telemetry dashboard (PE-exclusive)
- Signal formation tracking across four confidence stages
- Emerging theme aggregation and scoring
- Function-level coverage analytics
- Longitudinal signal history
Best for
PE firms that want continuous portfolio monitoring between assessment cycles, or as a first deployment before committing to the full platform. No Parallel, Beacon, or Bearing required.
Signal flow
Option B
Signal + Full Platform
Signal combined with Parallel, Beacon, and Bearing for complete portfolio intelligence — continuous and point-in-time.
What you get
- Everything in Standalone Signal
- Parallel assessments — point-in-time calibration of signal baselines
- Signal thresholds trigger automatic Beacon escalations
- Beacon routes validated signals to PE operating partners and boards
- Bearing converts escalations into board-ready strategic interpretation
- Longitudinal analysis across Signal cycles AND Parallel assessment cycles
- Operator Consortium bench for independent scoring
Best for
PE firms running active portfolio monitoring programs who need both continuous telemetry and structured assessment cycles, with automated escalation and board-level interpretation.
Intelligence loop
Not sure which deployment is right?
Most PE firms start with Standalone Signal during diligence or early hold, then expand to the full platform for active portfolio companies.
Positioning
This is not feedback software.
The distinction matters. Signal is designed from the architecture up to function as intelligence infrastructure — not an engagement platform.
Not this
- —Employee feedback software
- —HR sentiment tooling
- —Engagement surveys
- —Anonymous complaints
- —Executive review software
- —Glassdoor for portfolio companies
But this
- Organizational telemetry infrastructure
- Continuous pattern emergence detection
- PE-exclusive intelligence layer
- Anonymized signal aggregation
- AI-normalized operational risk sensing
- Leadership confidence analytics
Architecture
How Signal works.
Four layers from participant submission to PE-visible intelligence. Anonymity is structural, not policy.
Verified participant onboarding
Participants are verified by organization membership or invite-based onboarding. Identity is stored internally only for cadence enforcement, anti-abuse controls, and duplicate suppression. It is never visible in any output.
Structured submission cadence
Participants submit once per defined window. Each submission captures observations across operational, leadership, and execution themes. The AI normalization layer strips personal framing and clusters recurring patterns without retaining individual voice.
AI normalization and clustering
The AI layer normalizes language, suppresses noise, clusters recurring themes, and scores confidence based on recurrence, cross-functional diversity, time persistence, and corroboration strength.
Signal emergence and PE visibility
PE firms see only aggregated participation telemetry until confidence thresholds are met. Once thresholds are exceeded, validated signals surface — aggregated, anonymized, non-attributable. No raw submissions, ever.
Signal Formation
Signals emerge gradually.
Nothing surfaces until recurrence, cross-functional corroboration, and time persistence all exceed defined thresholds.
No Active Signal
Telemetry is active but no theme has reached sufficient recurrence or cross-functional consistency to form a signal.
Weak Signal
A recurring theme is emerging but has not yet built enough cross-functional corroboration to cross the confidence threshold.
Developing Signal
Multiple functions are independently reporting the same theme. Confidence is rising. PE-visible — not yet escalated.
Escalated Signal
Confidence threshold breached across recurrence, cross-functional diversity, and persistence. Beacon escalation triggered.
Access Model
PE-exclusive by design.
Who can see Signal
- PE firm operating partners
- Authorized investor-side users
- WG intelligence team
Who cannot see Signal
- —Portfolio company CEOs
- —Executives and managers
- —Employees or participants
- —Anyone at the portfolio company
Why this restriction is structural
PE firm-only visibility is not a privacy policy — it is the architectural constraint that makes submission integrity possible. If executives could access Signal dashboards, behavioral distortion would invalidate the data over time. The restriction exists to protect the quality of the intelligence, not just the privacy of participants.
Intelligence infrastructure
for portfolio operations.
Signal is available standalone or as part of the full Wexler Gray platform. Access is by arrangement only.
